The first approach requires node-on-node matching along the interface while the other two allow free user-meshing of the interacting surfaces. In addition, the program incorporates several contact interface features such as frictional slipping, heat conduction, thermoelastic and clearance/interference fitting. Several examples are presented in which the results from the three approaches are shown to be in very good agreement with ea
