Abstract
A new slideline algorithm for contact-impact problems in dynamic elastoplasticity E. Buzaud", A. Fanget^ A.Y. Shock wave initialization along the contact surface suggests that each point of this surface can be assimilated to the contact discon- tinuity of a Riemann problem. By resolving the Riemann problem at each contact sur- face node, a good estimation of its displacement and velocity can be obtained. The impact detection algorithm determines the exact place and instant of each contact point and also provides perfectly symmetrical processing thus avoiding the conventional concept of master and slave surfaces. Numerical results are presented and demonstrate the accuracy of the method. 1. Intr
