Abstract
For plants in order to grow in different types of peat soils the microbial activity and the release of nutrients is important. Therefore, it is important to perform the monitoring of exhausted peat fields and peat lands in their natural state in order to understand better their pedoecologial conditions. In the present study we examined different nitrogen and carbon forms, and microbial activity, as well as several agrochemical parameters in the different peat soils. Five study areas are located in the county of Tartu (58° 22’ N, 26° 43’ E) in the southern part of Estonia. One of the study areas is located in the county of Harjumaa (59° 6' N, 25° 22' E) in the nort
