Abstract
Clearing the air - the IPIEC A Toolkit R.S. Tindale 7P7ECW, Abstract Poor air quality is a problem faced by nearly all major cities worldwide and in some cases quality of life can be severely affected. The IPIECA (International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association) approach to urban air quality focuses on developing scientifically sound, cost effective and practical solutions to air pollution. In response to this approach, the IPIECA Toolkit was developed drawing on extensive industry experience around the world to enable policy makers, particularly in developing countries, to assess potential management solutions. The IPIECA Toolkit was developed to provide a flexible and accurate means of 1) building an extensive, locally customised, emissions inventory and 2) assessing alternative emissions reducing scenarios and their local relative cost effectiveness.
