Hellawell* * Department of Psychology, University of Surrey, UK Department of Civil Engineering, University of Surrey, UK Abstract The Environmental Psychology Research Unit together with the Fluids Research Centre, at the University of Surrey, UK, are investigating relationships between transport, air pollution and health. This collaborative research utilises a conceptual framework drawn from existing theories and paradigms in the field of environmental psychology, combined with analytical modelling and experimental data from fluid mechanics. The present research aims to investigate and account for actual and perceived levels of air pollution in Guildford, Surrey, with the collaboration of Guildford Borough Council.
