Abstract
Composition of coarse and fine fractions of participate matter at an urban and a conurban site in Northern Italy G.M. Marcazzan, G. Valli & R. Vecchi Institute di Fisica Generate Applicata, University of Milan, Italy Abstract In this paper results of two measurement campaigns (during winter and summertime) carried out simultaneously at an urban site (Milan) and a conurban town (Erba) are presented. Contemporary TSP, PM10, PM2.5 samplings were performed with the aim of studying their mass concentration and elemental composition in relation to sites differences. The daily variability of mass concentration values appeared to be strongly dependent from atmospheric stability and wind regimes. Also the ratio between different fractions was dependent from general circulation conditions. Both in winter and summer a mean decrease of about 20% for TSP concentration - and a greater diminish of the PM10 and PM2.5 (about 40 % for PM2.5) - was observed at the conurban si
