Abstract
Haifa Economic Corporation is planning to construct a new marina at the resort of Haifa, Israel. As part of a series of studies during this planning stage HR Wallingford carried out studies to investigate the potential impact that the marina would have on the sediment regime of the adjacent areas. An impact assessment study was devised which involved simulating the existing wave-driven sediment transport regime over a large area, using the HR coastal area modelling framework, PISCES. The combination of high resolution and large model area made simulation of all possible wave conditions and the associated sediment transport impractical. By analysing the wave, flow and sand transport equations of PISCES this larg
