Abstract
Traffic organization and transport accessibility are the key factors characterizing urban planning quality. A clearly defined and consequently implemented traffic policy is necessary, which would pay due attention to the interaction of the city and its vicinity. A complex approach to the solution of the current traffic problems is the answer; implementation of separate isolated strategies will be of no use. Key or primary tasks of the traffic organization are based on the maintenance and betterment of the urban life quality: • reduction of air pollution; • reduction of the noise level; • recovering of space occupied by automobiles and its usage for other purposes and needs; • more space for pedestrians and cyclists.
