Abstract
Evaluation of SOi and NO: Concentration Levels in Vilnius, Lithuania, using Passive Diffusive Samplers A contribution to subproject SATURN D. Perkauskas, A Mikelinskiene, B Giedraitis and V. Juozefaite Institute of physics, Savanoriu 231, 2028 Vilnius, Lithuania Introduction Sometimes there is a need for a determination of air pollution levels in towns with a good spatial distribution, for evaluation and control of the air pollution modelling results. It is useful to use diffusive samplers where the absorbed amount is proportional to the ambient concentration in the gas. The gas is transported to the sorbent by molecular diffusion and the diffusion rate is made constant by placing the impregnated filter inside a tube (Ferm, 1991; Krochmal and Gorski, 1991; Perkauskas et ai, 1997). Results The method of passive diffusive samplers (sorbents) has been used for the evaluation of SO: and NO: concentration l
