The Importance of Landuse Classification in Biogenic Emissions in the Madrid Area A contribution to suproject GENEMIS R. San Jose, M. Rollan, A. Romero, J.I. Lopez and M. A. Rodriguez Group of Environmental Software and Modelling, Computer Science School, Technical University of Madrid, Boadilla del Monte, 28660 Madrid, Spain We present a study of how diferent algorithms devised by some specialists in recent years affect the results in a specific area, Madrid. In order to measure the impact of diferent land use maps on the results, we aply the most recent algorithms with two diferent maps. One of them, the CORINE land use map for Madrid, and the other a map developed from a Landsat-V imagineiy in the Environmental Software and Modelling Group of the University of Madrid for the same area, the so called BIOEMI map. It can be observed the impact of the new findings of Photosintetic Active Radiaction (PA
