Abstract
Dispersion in a Street Canyon: Comparison of Wind Tunnel Experiments with Field Measurements A contribution to subproject SATURN J. Liedtke, B Leitl and M Schatzmann Meteorological Institute, University of Hamburg, Bundesstr. 55, D-20146 Hamburg Introduction The evaluation of numerical models comprises 6 steps (Schatzmann et #/., 1999). In the final step the validation of numerical codes is either be done by comparison with field data or those from experiments performed in a wind tunnel. The validation of models for complex urban pollutant dispersion problems is hindered by the lack of appropriate reference data. To alleviate these problems, extensive wind tunnel experiments were carried out at the Meteorological Institute of the University of Hamburg. The objectives of these experiments were: * to compare results of physical modelling against field data, * to provide reliable reference dat
