Abstract
The AirQUIZ Air Quality Assessment System: Its Use in Assessing the Effects of Pollution Abatement on Urban Air Quality and Population Exposure A contribution to subproject SATURN T. B0hler and A. Riise Norwegian Institute for Air Research, P.O. Box 100, N-2007 Kjeller, Norway In the field of air quality assessment, one of the most important topics is the population's exposure to air pollution. Population exposure indicators can be used to describe the air quality situation in an area, with respect to various official guidelines. In modelling the effect of recommended measures to reduce air pollution, the resulting population exposure is an important indicator of the effect that can be expected. It is important to model the gradients in concentration and the associated population exposure with a high spatial resolution. The modelling system AirQUIS (Air Quality Information System), associates a
