Abstract
A New Cloud Treatment in the EURAD Modelling System A contribution to subprojects CMD and GLOREAM B J Roeben, H J Jakobs and M. Memmesheimer EURAD-Projekt, Institut fur Geophysik und Meteorologie, Universitat zu Koln, Germany Motivation Within the historically grown EURAD modelling system three different types of cloud parameterisation were used. As a result different cloud properties were assumed for the diverse cloud effects. " M ": Computes clouds for further meteorological calculations; such as heat and moisture transport due to clouds and the effects of clouds on the radiation budget. Seven different explicit moisture schemes and seven different cumulus schemes are available, the user can chose one of each type (Anthes et al, 1987). " P ": Photochemistry in CTM is treated at the same time as gas-phase chemistry but before aqueous-phase chemistry. The parameters which are needed to c
