Abstract
POCP in Relation to NO* and VOC Emissions A contribution to subproject CMD Yvonne Andersson-Skold and Lars Holmberg Melica Environmental Consultants, Pjallgatan 3 E, S-413 17 Goteborg, Sweden Introduction Decisions about reducing ozone precursors, NOx and VOC, and thereby ozone itself have been taken in Europe. Different countries have however different strategies. For example, in Great Britain the approach is to rank VOCs after their ability to produce ozone. In other countries, the Netherlands for example, the strategy is to make a general reduction of all types of VOCs The present work has been conducted in order to investigate how different emission scenarios (i.e. changed NOx, VOC and NOx/VOC emissions) affect the contribution to the ozone concentration from individual VOCs. Different strategies are likely to be needed depending on the mixture of emitted species and the composition of the air mass to which the mixture is emitted.
