Abstract
The quality of water entering, leaving and resident in collection and storage systems of rural springs used as potable supplies was monitored during different atmospheric conditions. Microbiological, chemical, physio-chemical and radiological analyses were carried out for a range of contaminants. The changes in the distribution of these contaminants over time was monitored and related to meteorological conditions and to physiochemical conditions within the collection and storage system. The distribution of contaminants in different collection systems was compared, and related to the differences in the physical dimensions and configurations of the collection systems, and to the qual
