Abstract
Methodology and results of determination of the energetic potential for CHP in Belgium A. Martens Centre of Expertise 'Rational Use of Energy ', Email: martensa@vito. be Abstract At present, promotion of combined production of heat and power (CHP) plays a significant role in most national energy strategies, aiming at primary energy savings and COz-reduction. In order to work out a policy for promotion of CHP, it is necessary to know the technical-economical potential for CHP. Although one is particularly interested in the economic potential, it is necessary for developing a long term strategy to know the energetic potential for CH, it is the potential based on the energy demands of companies and based on a (for CHP) perfect economic climate. Starting from this potential the government and the utilities can formulate actions in order to convert the energetic potential into an economic CHP-potential VITO developed a methodology to determine this 'energetic CHP-potentia
