Abstract
The concentrations of inhalable Participate Matter (PM15) were measured in two places: at the Moji Vale, in the industrial city of Cubatao (EOT) and at a nearby site located on the top of "Sena do Mar" sierra, in the Biological Reserve of Paranapiacaba (TOP). Staked filter units provided the aerosol sampling at the fine and coarse size fractions. About 1 10 pairs of samples were concomitantly collected for each place, between July and September/ 1991, using a 12 h, day/night, sampling periods. The average concentrations of PM15 were high, reaching values greater than 100 ug/nf, while TOP at night showed an average value of 54 ^g/nf . PIXE (Particle Induced X-ray Emission) analysis provided the chemical elements analysis of the samples (Z>12). This information was used as input for Principal Fact
