Abstract
Concentrations of nitrogen dioxide at the M4/M5 motorway interchange near Bristol. UK are predicted using two models of differing complexity. The values obtained are compared with diffusion tube monitoring data at the site and the merits of each approach to predicting current and future concentrations are discussed in the light of new UK air quality manage- ment requirements. Introduction In the new regime of air quality management established by the UK Environ- ment Act* monitoring will continue to provide a basis for assessing urban air quality, but it is not possible practically or economically to monitor at every loc
