Abstract
A method to evaluate dispersion parameters in a shear dominated stable planetary boundary layer is described in this paper. The method is based on the local similarity and Taylor's diffusion theory. The model indicates that in the lower half of the stable boundary layer the turbulence structure is nearly homogeneous. The present analysis allows us to conclude that the statistical diffusion theory can reproduce the contaminant dispersion in a stable turbulence described by the local similarity theory. 1 Introduction In the last twenty years, there has been a wide development of plume dispersion models in a convective boundary layer. However, the modelling o
