Abstract
The beach of San Sebastian (N. Spain) faces the problem of frequent contamination events due to the discharge of the Urumea river. The use of HPC Techniques is critical in this context, where quick reactions in front of spillage accidents are required. AZTI has surveyed the area in several occasions, collecting a large quantity of field data which have been used to "feed" a package of parallelized hydrodynamic and dispersion models developed jointly by LIM/UPC and AZTI. Now, codes are supported by a Silicon Graphics Power Challenge share
