Abstract
The simulation tool HAM provides the computational environment for the evaluation of the flow pattern and the adsorption in an activated carbon ad- sorber. The efficiency of selective adsorption under variable conditions (e.g. flow velocity, adsorber geometry and different micro pollutants) may be studied. The results are presented by vector plots of the flow velocity, break through curves and overall loading of the activated carbon adsorber. To show the per- formance and possible applications of the simulation model HAM, an example of three competing substances with different adsorption characteristics is pre- sented. 1 Introduction The introduction of a new proc
