Abstract
Comparison of measured NMHC- and carbonyl compound concentration in air at SANA-station Melpitz K. Muller, Th. Gnauk, W. Rolle, G. Spindler Institute for Tropospheric Research, Permoserstr. 15, D-04303 Leipzig, Germany ABSTRACT The measurement of carbonyl compounds and Non-Methane-Hydrocarbons (NMHC) at the rural place Melpitz is directed to characterize the status and changes in air quality during this period of enormous changes in the emission structure in the eastern parts of Germany. Industrial and agricultural emissions got lower but emissions from traffic rose with the traffic density and jams. The comparison of concentrations of biogenic and anthropogenic emitted NMHC and mainly secondary formed aldehydes and ketones shows changes in oxydation capacity of the atmosphere depending on radiation parameters, and temperature, and offer of reaction partners. So we observe a yearly course of carbonyl compounds in opposition to NMHC concentrations. The concentration
