Abstract
An atmospheric environmental expert system has been designed to favour decision making during the operation of a power plant with the goal of minimizing atmospheric air pollution. The system receives quasi-real time meteorological and emission data which is used to compute a three dimensional windfield and the corresponding pollution concentration field. The numerical simulation results are treated in a GIS to provide hourly air pollution information of the source contribution to the air quality deterioration of the selected area of study.
