Abstract
The present paper addresses a lichen calibration with the physical monitors - dust gauges - in order to enable their use as biomonitors of atmospheric deposition derived from fugitive dust emissions of a mine activity. For this purpose, linear regressions were performed between Cu values of lichens, directional dust gauges and precipitation, exhibiting good correlations. Biomonitoring revealed to be an inexpensive and reliable method of air quality assessment, permitting exhaustive and flexible sampling. A Gaussian dispersion model was implemented and run with lichens and meteorological data, and tec
