Abstract
For the investigation of transport and chemical transformation of pollutants with atmospheric models, reliable emission data with high temporal resolution are needed. In this paper methods are presented to generate such data. These methods are based on thorough analyses of the temporal course of activities, that cause emissions and use existing annual emission data and - for the temporal disaggre- gation - socio-economic, statistical, technical and meteorological data bases. Re- sults indicate that the temporal variation of emissions in Europe is rather strong and differs considerably from country to country. The consideration of these findings will improve the results of atmospheric models. 1 Introduction A number of atmospheric transport and chemistry models is cu
