Abstract
High volume air samplers were used for measurements of suspended particulate concentrations in downtown Patras, during July 1992 by 1-h sampling runs, as well as during October 1992 by performing both for 1-h and 24-h runs and during March 1993 for 24-h sampling runs. During the sampling periods, the traffic rates were also monitored by counting the vehicles passing in front of the station. The measurements are statistically analyzed to obtain typical week variations and degrees of correlation between TSP concentrations and traffic rates, representative of their sampling periods. Additional limited sampling was conducted at the University campus at Rion to determine TSP background levels. The results are discussed and compared with measurements available
