Kulling Monod Consulting Engineers Ltd, CH-1066 Epalinges, Switzerland CSD Consulting Engineers Ltd, CH-1052 Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, Switzerland ABSTRACT Near Vevey, on the shores of the Geneva Lake, a new marina has just been achieved for 376 boats, on the site of the old floating marina destroyed during a tremendous aeolian storm. The aim of this article is to describe how the works were carried out and which were the special techniques used within difficult geotechnical conditions. It also deals with the protection of the terrestrial and aquatic environment and its building consequences, as actually the swiss legislation for nature protection has become very strict for any new construction.
