Abstract
Water quality is of particular importance in the planning and design of marinas. The effect of the internal hydraulics on the tidal flushing and circulation in marinas is investigated utilizing a number of numerical models. The local value of the fraction of water in some segments of the basin which is removed and replaced with ambient water during each tidal cycle is determinated. A two- dimensional depth integrated numerical model is used to provide timely variation of pollutant concentration present in water enclosed by the marina.
