Abstract

The versatility of tubular track construction where the concrete rail support structure can be moulded in-situ or pre-cast into sections, lends itself very favourably to the utilisation of stray current control techniques, even in applications such as \“grass track” or in applications where the physical environmental impact requirements are very stringent. The stray current performance of different configurations of tubular track is studied making use of analytical and finite element models. The solution space of the models is selected in such a manner that simulation results can be compared for different configurations. By altering the conventional modelling and measurement configuration an effective rail to earth conductance can be def
