Abstract
This paper describes work undertaken to prepare a comprehensive data set covering 1999 – 2002 for econometric modelling of railway infrastructure maintenance and renewal costs in Sweden. Costs for operations, maintenance and renewals as well as infrastructure information have been gathered from the Swedish National Rail Administration’s (Banverket) accounting and track information systems. Traffic information has been retrieved from the major passenger and freight operators, but underreported and missing freight data has forced us to find solutions to impute values.
