Abstract
A methodology for a preliminary service dependability estimation of the new Italian high speed railway system is illustrated in the paper. The following subsystems have been analysed: high voltage transmission network; electric substations; overhead contact lines; signalling. The effects of the main event perturbing the railway service have been considered by simulating the different traffic management in degraded conditions.
