Abstract

In order to solve several problems in Train Control System, two types of new generation Train Control System are under development in Japan. They differ in transmitting data between train and the ground. One type transmits data by mobile radio and the other type transmits data by track circuit. According to the technical and operational comparisons, it is impossible to tell which one has absolute superiority to the other one. We propose therefore another type, which combines radio and track circuit in complementary way. 1 Introduction Train control system(TCS) has such a function as to make trains run safely and efficiently.
