Abstract

Among several definitions of Advanced Train Control System recent published, the statement: "Advanced Train Control means the use of microprocessors and digital data communication to provide enhanced and cost effective new tools for supervision, control, and communications to improve mass transit and railroad operations" is the most discussed by signalling engineers.
