Abstract
Train overspeed protection system is widely adopted as train control system to ensure train operation safety and increase transport efficiency in the many countries in the world. This paper describes fault-diagnosis design for a new train overspeed protection system based on multi-microprocessors and distributed configuration in order to ensure the system itself to be reliable and meet fail-safe principle. The fault-diagnosis of the system is divided into three categories: static diagnosis ( fault-diagnosis before the system starts ), dynamic diagnosis ( fault-diagnosis during the system operation ) and power- on diagnosis. The design principle, fault models and diagnosis algorithms for each kind of fault-diagnosis are discussed in details in the paper. Finally, it is suggested in the paper that the three categories of
