Abstract
Acoustic map of Pamplona, Spain. Percentile of people affected by environmental noise M. Arana, M. L. San Martin, A. Vela & R. San Martin Laboratory of Acoustics, Physics Department, Public University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain Abstract Pamplona is a medium size town with a population about of 200,000, located in the north of Spain. Recently, a new acoustic map of the town has been carried out. This acoustic map has been elaborated by means of computational methods. Nevertheless, numerous "in situ" measurements have confirmed the reliability of the predicted levels. The main conclusion is the confiition of the reduction of the average noise pollution in the town. That is so after comparing the results with those obtained from another acoustic map carried out ten years ago and with the same methodology. This reduction can be attributed to two reasons. On the one hand, the reduction of the noise emitted by vehicles due to an important renovation of the total number of cars in the town. On the o
