However, recently realised P&Rs in the Netherlands are not fully successful. To build more attractive P&R facilities, insight into the car drivers' preferences with respect to transfer from car to public transport is required. The question is how car drivers weigh the different P&R characteristics and how these characteristics affect their choices. In order to gain that insight the Hierarchical Information Integration (HII) approach is used. The HI1 approach is an extension of the stated preference modelling approach and is able to handle a larger amount of attribute
