Abstract

CAD WIRE - a computer program for designing, calculating, drafting and managing overhead contact line systems R. Kopp Kummler & Matter Limited, Zurich, Switzerland 1- Summarizing description By using the CADWIRE program one may plan single-contact-wire-lines with one or two contact wires (ETB) as well as catenary systems with contact wire and messenger. It can process overhead contact line systems with cantilever as supporting network or other cable support networks. The program has been developed to make it possible for support networks such as cantilevers, portals or span wire networks over one or more tracks. The poles may be placed on the side or in the middle of a double track. The various support networks may appear within a given project. The cable support systems may be designed as cross-spans, or Y shaped transverse cables or even a flat chain with more than two pullofifs.
