Abstract

In complex railway systems even small alterations to individual compo- nents can have wide repercussions. This makes computer-assist methods indispensable in both planning and operations control tasks. Especially the planning of timetables on long route sections will be much faster by com- putering those tasks, which currently still depends a lot on experience and intuition. For this purpose the interaktive construction programme SIMU- PLAN was developed on the basis of the simulations model SIMU VII at the Institute for Transport, Railway Construction and Operation (IVE) at Hannover University. 1 Model components SIMUPLAN is fitted into the data and programme environment of the si- mulation system SIMU VII (Klahn [2]). This minimizes the effort of data acquisation and also m
