Abstract
The interaction between supercritical flow and a sill with variable height s (0.5 , 0.6 and 0.7 m) is studied in a rectangular channel (width B = 5.01 m) downstream of the weir of Sernio (Adda river, Northern Italy). Results of the statistical analysis of time fluctuating pressures on the central axis of the upstream face of the sill are presented. Statistical moments (standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis) of local pressures at various locations on sill surface are analysed and then relationships between these moments and mean flow parameters are investigated. Some considerations on local pressure extreme values and spectral analysis are also presented. A comparison between rea
