Abstract
The effect of ice covering aquatorium free surface on underkeel clearance for a vessel going in shallow water Y.L. Vorobyov Department of Ship Theory and Design, Odessa Institute of Marine Engineers, 34 Mechnikov sir., ABSTRACT. The hydrodynamic problem for the progressive water wave difraction on the ice plate covering the aquatorium of finite depth is investigated. Both elastic and visco-elastic mechanical models of ice cover are treated. The results are used for determination of maximum sinkage of the ship hull extreme points when she is sailing in narrow "channel" made by icebreaker in the ice cover of the aquatorium of finite depth and is exciting by irregular waves falling from the open sea on the ice plate boundary edge. 1. INTRODUCTION. When a vessel is approaching sea port or is sailing in port aquatorium her navigation safety is strongly effected by the underkeel clearance. It's per
