Abstract

Description of a new transport system that meets changing needs, complements multi-modal travel and offers reduced impact is the focus of this study. The work consists of two main components: research into the current situation and design solution. Travel demand, current transport preference and related impacts are first discussed, followed by examples of measures to correct difficulties and consideration of influences that hinder change. Results of a local survey complete the supporting research. Key features of the proposed system and vehicle, as well as operating recommendations and parameters are presented as a solution to the findings.
