Abstract

At present the usage of large self-deployable truss structures in nautical field of engineering seems to be promising. They allow creation of underwater impermeable surfaces for localization of radioactive and chemical waste, which had been accumulated in the past. Real self-deployable truss structures settled on the breaks of nuclear-powered submarine "Komsomolets" are described in the paper. 1 Introduction The key element of self-deployable truss constructions, determining finally their characteristics is load-bearing truss framework. It ensures extremely small overall dimensions in the folded state and a high stiffness of the structure in the deployed operating state. Principles laid in truss structure design make it possible to build on the basis of its tetrahedral unit cell frameworks of different three- dimensional shapes (spherical, cyli
