Abstract

During the last few years Dragados has built a certain number of large span bridges. For these, modern construction techniques have been used, several of which involve key major temporary elements. These elements are, by themselves, important structural pieces, and mainly involve temporary staying systems. Three major bridges are described below; these include different construction systems and how they made use of temporary staying systems during the construction phases.
