Abstract
The design of marinas requires the resolution of numerous physical and environmental conflicts, which are created by the introduction of marine craft and large physical structures into the environment. At the top of the design hierarchy, the objective is to provide good safe mooring with a high standard of amenity. Unfortunately, the introduction of large rubble mound structures interrupts the natural processes associated with wave activity, sediment movement and tidal flow. Techniques involving water quality, tidal, beach plan shape and wave modelling are frequently used to address these issues. In recent years however,
