Abstract
Geotechnical risk analysis suffers from many problems of uncertainties due to the difficulty in estimating various parameters concerned by the analysis. These parameters are related to natural materials and are usually difficult to be evaluated, measured or even estimated. While the quantification of parameters is an important task, it is usually practiced according to the experience of the geotechnical engineer at the site (discrete approach) or by using probabilistic methods (probabilistic approach). The discrete approach is very limited because it does not take into account the variability or the uncertainty of parameters. On the other ha
