Abstract
This paper presents both experimental and analytical approaches on the effects of steel jacket reinforcement of RC pier model under impulsive vertical motion. First, the impact push-up test was performed for the RC pier models with steel jacket or supplement reinforcement bars. It was found from the test that the steel jacket reinforcement was in general effective for the RC pier under impulsive vertical motion.
