Abstract
During the last few years in Portugal, the development of several projects of new transport systems in medium size cities can be observed. One of the main goals of these projects concerns the promotion of a modal split more favourable to public transport and walking modes. Some of these projects have already reached the phase of implementation and it is now possible to analyse some of its results.
