Abstract
This paper presents both experimental and analytical studies on the dynamic behavior of prestressed concrete (PC) beams under rapid speed loading. First, the static and dynamic tests were performed in order to examine the elastic-plastic behaviors of bonded and unbonded PC beams, respectively. Second, a discrete model analysis method is developed for die dynamic ultimate limit states of bonded and unbonded PC beams under rapid speed loading. The numerical results are compared with experimental ones and discussed. 1 Introduction In the past a large number of prestressed concrete (PC) rock-shed structures have been constructed in the mountainous area in Japan, because of both advantages of short construction period and high s
