Abstract

An implicit finite difference solution is used to study the dynamic effects of tidal flows on suspended load transport. The numerical method solves transformed forms of one- dimensional equations for sediment concentrations over the water column in order to reduce truncation errors. Applications are made to analytical and field situations and shown to yield good results.
