Abstract
A high-resolution finite volume hydrodynamic solver for hydraulic flows has been developed. Second order accuracy has been achieved by means of MUSCL reconstruction in conjunction with a Hancock two-stage scheme for the time integration. This Godunov-rype upwind scheme using approximate Riemann solvers is capable of capturing bore-waves. Because of this ability, both tidal flows and wave propagation can be simulated accurately.
